Two days after the government formed a five-member committee on Telangana,Congress president Sonia Gandhi on Friday constituted the partys Coordination Committee for Andhra Pradesh. The nine-member committee,chaired by Law Minister and AICC in-charge of state M Veerappa Moily,includes leaders from both Telangana and non-Telangana regions.

State PCC chief D Srinivas was appointed convenor of the Coordination Committee. Its members included Chief Minister K Rosaiah,state Minister for Tourism Geetha Reddy,former minister K Jana Reddy,former minister Shabbir Ali,MP and the late YSR Reddys close friend K V P Ramachandra Rao,MP Jaganmohan Reddy and MP K S Rao.

The coordination committee was formed,even as the government was said to be finalising the terms of reference of the five-member Telangana committee. At the Congress Working Committee meeting on Friday,AICC general secretary Digvijay Singh had raised the issue saying that it was high time Telangana issue was resolved. Home Minister P Chidambaram told the CWC that the government would first like to wait for the passions to calm down in the state.
