Sharmila for 15-plus censor certificate

The chairperson of Central Board of Film Certification CBFC,Sharmila Tagore has suggested that there should be a new segment of certification,called 15-plus 15.

U certificate caters to universal audience,U/A caters to 12 and A caters to 18 audience. There is a difference between a 12-year old and a 15-year old in terms of their perception and hence the CBFC should come up with a new category,15-plus category,which stands between U/A and A category.,says Sharmila Tagore.

Films with some violence and some double- meanings will be given a 15 certificate. Ask her to name a few films which she thinks are apt for a 15 certificate and she says that she cannot name any movies in particular but about 20-40 per cent of the films with an Adult category should get a 15-plus certificate.

Tagore signs off by saying that the Ministry is being co-operative and is hoping that the Parliament accepts the proposed bill.
