Saif says acted in self-defence

Officers investigating the scuffle involving Bollywood actor Saif Ali Khan have said that the hunt for independent witnesses in the case has begun as the actor has alleged that he was assaulted first and that he acted in self defence. The incident took place late on Tuesday when South African businessman Iqbal Sharma alleged that Saif had assaulted him after he complained about Saifs group making too much noise.

Saif gave us a letter alleging that he was assaulted first and acted in self defence. We are verifying the contents. We have not yet registered a complaint against the complainant and will only do so if the contents of Saifs letter are found to be true, said an official.
