Railway Minister Mukul Roy on Monday said that safety, security and punctuality were his priorities, even as he avoided queries relating to much needed financial reforms in the Indian Railway saying that such questions should not be asked as Parliament session is on.
Roy,while interacting with the media at the Eastern Railways headquarters here on Monday, said that his emphasis would be on reduction of operating ratio of the Railways. On Monday,Roy met general managers of Eastern Railway,South Eastern Railway,Metro to discuss implementation of the projects initiated earlier.
When asked how would he raise Rs 3,000 crore from non-conventional sources, as stated in the Rail Budget,Roy said that this question should not be answered in open forum since Parliament session is on.
