For Deepan and Padmakumar,both sought after directors and good friends,London Dreams is a dream come true. Deepan,whose last film Puthiya Mugham was a big hit and Padmakumar,whose Shikkar is still going strong at the box-office,are joining hands to direct the movie. Deepan talks about his ambitious venture. About London Dreams The film is about two guys,who have been friends since their college days and move to London. The way life changes for them after they reach London is what forms the plot. The film focusses on the struggle that many expatriates have to go through. It also has a considerable amount of action and thrills. Along with the Malayalam stars,we are also having about 80 artistes from the United Kingdom. Ganging up Padmakumar and I have been friends even before I joined cinema. He was working as an assistant director for Shaji Kailas Aaraam Thampuran like me. We had a good rapport. We formed,along with some other friends,a company and dreamed of making a film some day. Life went on,with all of us being busy with whatever we were doing. Some of the friends in the group even went abroad and were busy with their lives. It was during Shikkar that we started thinking seriously about this. We had to do something soon. The idea came up and it took shape gradually. Unni Sivapal,who was part of the group,also came in with suggestions. We had earlier planned to base our story in Malaysia,but Unni suggested UK and it was thus that London Dreams started evolving. Major highlights London Dreams will definitely take a look at reality from a very sensitive point of view. There will be all the ingredients needed to make for a commercial flick. There will be romance,action,thrills and songs too. The main focus,however,will be on youngsters who reach UK. Many youngsters reach Britain and other countries,with different aims of course. But the activities that they indulge in after reaching there,the life that they lead takes a totally different track. We are focussing on this aspect in the film. The movie also contains a message of sorts for parents whose children are abroad for studies and work. You may even call London Dreams a Malayalam film that has English dialogues. We have rooted the film in a different milieu. For us its the realisation of a dream and we strive to make the dream come true with all grandeur. We start shooting in the UK from November 25. The film will be shot in a single schedule and we are planning to release it in January.
