Kolkata Traffic Advisory: Belgharia Railway Over Bridge to remain closed from Jan 17 – check alternate routes
Traffic Advisory in Kolkata: In a statement, Eastern Railway (ER), under which Sealdah Division falls, said that vehicular traffic will be diverted through alternative routes to ensure public safety and facilitate the smooth execution of the work.
Kolkata road closure, Kolkata Traffic Advisory: The Belgharia Railway Over Bridge (ROB) will remain closed from January 17 as Sealdah Division undertakes renovation work. Thus, vehicular movement on the bridge will be completely restricted from Saturday, January 17, until the completion of the project.
In a statement, Eastern Railway (ER), under which Sealdah Division falls, said that vehicular traffic will be diverted through alternative routes to ensure public safety and facilitate the smooth execution of the work.
“Traffic movement over Belgharia Railway Over Bridge shall remain completely restricted from 00:01 hrs. on 17.01.2026 till completion of the work, and vehicular traffic shall be diverted through alternative routes as notified by the Barrackpore Police Commissionerate in the interest of public safety and smooth execution of the work,” ER said.

Vehicles travelling from B.T. Road towards Nimta via Belgharia Railway Over Bridge will be directed as follows:
B.T. Road → Rathtala Morh / Nilgunj Road & B.T. Road Crossing → Sindhu Store Morh on Nilgunj Road → Texmaco / Military Road → 04 No. Rail Gate → via Sahid Bedi on N. Basudeb Road → M.B. Road (Culture Morh) → Nimta / Kalyani Expressway.
Vehicles travelling from Nimta / Kalyani Expressway towards B.T. Road via Belgharia Railway Over Bridge will be directed as follows:
