Ranbaxy CEO to step down

Arun Sawhney will take over as managing director,Daiichi Sankyo-controlled Ranbaxy.

Ranbaxy Laboratories Ltd8217;s managing director and chief executive officer Atul Sobti will step down from his positions effective Aug 19.

Arun Sawhney,who is currently president of Ranbaxy8217;s global pharmaceutical business,will take over as managing director,Daiichi Sankyo-controlled Ranbaxy said in a statement.

Sobti is stepping down after just over a year in the top spot. No reason was given for his departure.
