Police begin probe into Sachan death

The Lucknow bench of Allahabad High Court had ordered the police to produce the case diaries related to the investigation.

Initially,the Lucknow police was reluctant to lodge the murder case on the complaint of Dr Sachans wife,citing the reason of judicial inquiry being conducted by the Chief Judicial Magistrate into the matter. Later,the murder case was registered on June 26. But Lucknow Range IG Subesh Kumar Singh and Lucknow DIG D K Thakur,both,had said that the police cannot begin the probe till the judicial inquiry was concluded.

The investigating officer IO in the case said the statements of the jail staff have been recorded so far.
