The BJP on Sunday was hopeful of an early resolution to the stalemate in the party,triggered by the appointment of Sudhanshu Mittal as the Prabhari for the North-East.

Sources in the party claimed the compromise formula could be arrived at before the partys central election committee meets next on March 17,when Bihar a state where Arun Jaitley worked out the seat sharing arrangement with the ally,the JD-U is discussed.

Meanwhile,Sunday was abuzz with meetings. Leaders,including party president Rajnath Singh,Jaitley,Sushma Swaraj and Ram Lal met at the residence of L K Advani early in the day to discuss the Delhi seats again. They stayed back for a video shoot for the partys election campaign. Jaitley also attended a publicity committee meeting in the afternoon.

Mittal met Ram Lal during the day. The party list for Assam could be declared on Monday,said sources. A couple of other leaders from the Parivar,including M Venkaiah Naidu,were said to be in touch with him. Those in the know said at least three different proposals were being considered to resolve the deadlock in the party.
