Panel to probe AIEEE paper leak

A three-member inquiry committee has been set up to investigate the AIEEE paper leak on Sunday that affected lakhs of students,forcing the CBSE to reschedule the test with a fresh set of questions.

Some 32,000 students who could not appear for the exam on Sunday will now take it on May 11.

The test was earlier rescheduled for May 8,but the date clashed with another examination being conducted by Banaras Hindu University BHU.

The inquiry panel will be headed by Prof Falguni Gupta of IIT-Kanpur who had earlier headed the committee on the Joint Entrance Examination JEE that determines admissions to IITs.

The committee will submit a report in a month,sources said.

Meanwhile,the Uttar Pradesh Polices Special Task Force is looking for five suspects involved in the leakage of the AIEEE question paper.

UP Special DG Law amp; Order Brij Lal said the investigation into the matter so far has found that one of the key suspects belonged to Jaunpur district of UP and was operating the racket from Ghaziabad and Mumbai.
