Pak moves HC to grill AQ Khan

The Pakistani government has requested permission from the Lahore High Court to question disgraced nuclear scientist A Q Khan over recent media reports that Pakistan arranged the transfer of nuclear technology to Iran.

The government move comes amid fears by the US and its allies that Iran is using its nuclear programme to develop atomic weapons.

The request was made on Monday as the court was preparing to rule on a petition by Khan against restrictions on his movement. The court is expected to rule Wednesday on both requests.
