Tanuja Chandra has wrapped up the last schedule of her 40-day shoot in Bhopal for her forthcoming film Raakh. And the buzz is that stand-up comedian Vir Das,who stars in Raakh, has not smiled even once in the film! Raakh is not a comedy and it revolves around a family in Bhopal. My role is very dramatic. It is unlike any of my earlier roles. I am pretty excited about the film, confirms the actor. For Raakh,Vir has a rural accent for which the actor had to receive training in the Bhopali dialect. There was a lot of voice work for me. The Bhopali language is alien to me so there was a lot of learning to do, says the actor. Raakh has been slotted for a Diwali release.
The stand-up comedian is also set to turn producer by the year-end. Vir will be producing a film under his banner,Weirdass Comedy. But the actor refused to divulge any information. Its too early to speak about it, he says.
