A day after he was released on bail, former Karnataka CM B S Yeddyurappa said Wednesday that he was not trying for any position in the party, even as his supporters demanded that he should be made the state BJP president.
I am a BJP worker. I will travel around the state to build the party. I will campaign for the party. I am not trying for any position in the party, said Yeddyurappa. CM D V Sadananda Gowda and many state ministers and legislators considered loyal to Yeddyurappa met him at his house Wednesday.
Yeddyurappa, who spent 25 days in prison, visited the influential Siddaganga mutt,a Lingayat mutt in Tumkur.
In a brief interaction with the media,Yeddyurappa denied any animosity towards party leaders like L K Advani who targeted him in the course of his yatra. Let God do good to all, he said.
Stating that had committed no crime that warranted his arrest,Yeddyurappa said: I will however leave everything to the people of the state to decide if I have done right or wrong.
