Munda,Marandi trade code violation charges

Marandi took the lead and blamed Munda for not honouring the DCs order.

Chief Minister Arjun Munda and his arch rival Babulal Marandi were engaged in a war of words on the eve of Jamshedpur Lok Sabha bypoll,scheduled to be held on Friday between 7 am and 3 pm.

With Jamshedpur Deputy Commissioner Himani Pandey on Wednesday ordering all non-residents involved in campaigning to leave the constituency,Munda and Marandi accused each other of violating the model code of conduct.

Munda and Marandi are residents of Ghorabandha in Jamshedpur and Giridih,respectively. Both have been camping in the constituency to campaign for their respective party candidates BJPs Dineshanand Goswami and Jharkhand Vikas Morchas Ajay Kumar.

Marandi took the lead and blamed Munda for not honouring the DCs order. Its shame that he Munda did not follow the model code, said Marandi on Wednesday evening.

Before leaving for Ranchi,Munda accused Marandi of violating the order. He Marandi is from Giridih. Why did he stay put? Munda told the media,adding that since his ancestral house was located in the constituencys Ghorabandha area,he was,in fact,a resident.

However,Marandi soon left Jamshedpur.

Pandey clarified on Thursday morning that the CM can stay back and said that the order was meant to maintain law and order in the area.

The outlawed CPIMaoist has called for a statewide bandh on Friday to protest against the death sentence awarded by the court on June 23 to its four cadres for killing 19 persons,including Marandis son Anup,at Chilkari village in Giridih district in 2007.
