Monsoon withdrawal delayed again

Monsoon withdrawal has not happened before September 15 in the last seven years,according to the Met data.

For the eighth consecutive year,the withdrawal of south-west monsoon has been delayed. The withdrawal generally begins from September 1 from the northern parts of Rajasthan.

With the Western Disturbance persisting over the northern parts of the country,and another one set to hit the area soon,the monsoons withdrawal will definitely not take place in the next three to four days, said Dr S Pai,Director,Long Range Forecast at the Indian Meteorological Department Pune.
