The Monsoon Session of Parliament is set to be held from August 5 to 30,sources disclosed here on Monday after a meeting of the Cabinet Committee on Parliamentary Affairs headed by Defence Minister A K Antony.

The food security ordinance promulgated recently is expected to come up for ratification during the session. The Opposition is likely to target the government for avoiding a discussion in Parliament.

The government is also likely to bring a number of other important legislations, including the Land Acquisition,Resettlement and Rehabilitation Bill with amendments after being examined by the parliamentary standing committee on rural development,Direct Taxes Code Bill,Real Estate Regulatory Bill,Insurance Bill,Pension Bill and Companies Bill, besides amendments to the Right to Information Act.
