MoD too cuts costs

The austerity drive has hit the Ministry of Defence also with the government circular on cutting costs doing the rounds. While various departments are doing calculations to figure out how to cut costs,one of the early casualties has been Defence Minister A K Antonys visit to Russia next month for defence cooperation talks. Two years back,the minister took a delegation of close to 20 people for talks. This time around,the size of the delegation has been reduced by more than half. Officers are now worried about training programmes and conferences abroad that the government wants curtailed.
