Amid clamour over gig workers being overworked, Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) MP Raghav Chadha on Tuesday claimed that the central government has intervened in the matter to ensure the removal of the “10-minute delivery” branding from quick-commerce platforms.
Expressing gratitude, Chadha wrote on X that the move was much needed, noting that the pressure on delivery agents is real, constant, and dangerous.
“I am deeply grateful to the Central Government for its timely, decisive and compassionate intervention in enforcing the removal of the ’10-minute delivery’ branding from quick-commerce platforms. This is a much needed step because when ’10 minutes’ is printed on a rider’s tshirt/ jacket/ bag and a timer runs on the customer’s screen, the pressure is real, constant, and dangerous,” Chadha said.

“Over the past months, I have spoken to hundreds of delivery partners. Many are overworked, underpaid and risking their life to fulfil an unrealistic promise. I thank every citizen who stood with us – you stood firmly on the side of human life, safety & dignity,” he added.
Chadha has repeatedly flagged exploitative labour practices in the delivery app sector. He sought a ban on the “10 minute delivery” system in the Parliament, arguing that the working conditions of delivery agents are often worse than daily wage labourers and that the government must think about their welfare.
Debating in the Upper House, he said that the gig workers were the “invisible wheels of the Indian economy” who risk their lives to meet unrealistic deadlines.
Earlier on Monday, the Rajya Sabha MP wore the uniform of a Blinkit delivery agent and “lived their day” to raise awareness on the issue.
In December, Chadha tweeted a screenshot showing a Blinkit delivery agent earning only Rs 763 for 15 hours of duty, saying “This is not a ‘gig economy success story’. This is systemic exploitation hidden behind apps & algorithms.” Following the Winter Session of Parliament, Chadha invited the delivery partner, identified as Thapliyal Ji from Uttarakhand, to his residence for lunch.
