BJP hits back at Digvijay
NEW DELHI: The BJP on Wednesday hit back at senior Congress leader Digvijay Singh a day after he targeted L K Advani holding him responsible for all communal violence since 1992 asking him to stop making irresponsible statements . He was the Chief Minister of a big state. Though he has lost that post,that doesnt mean he should lose the sense of propriety. He should stay within the limits of propriety, BJP spokesperson Shahnawaz Hussain said.
Vedanti offers prayers at site
AYODHYA: Former MP and senior member of Ram Janmabhoomi Nyas Mahant Ram Vilas Vedanti on Wednesday offered prayers at the makeshift temple at the disputed site here on the eve of the Allahabad High Courts verdict on the Ayodhya title suits. Accompanied by seven saints,Vedanti,who has long been associated with the temple movement,was escorted by a circle officer amid tight security to the makeshift temple.
Too much hype in UP: Mulayam
LUCKNOW: Samajwadi Party president Mulayam Singh Yadav on Wednesday charged UP Chief Minister Mayawati with creating unnecessary hype over security arrangements ahead of the pronouncement of the Ayodhya verdict. Nobody is thinking of creating any disturbance and yet the state government has made massive deployment of force all over the state leading to unnecessary tension, Yadav said at a press conference.
VHP man seeks temple details
LUCKNOW: A VHP functionary has sought information about arrangements at the Ram Janmabhoomi Complex under the RTI Act from the receiver of Ram Janmabhoomi and Divisional Commissioner of Faizabad. Media in-charge of the VHP Sharad Sharma moved an RTI application seeking information on five points including who has the right to make available clothes being used by Ramlala whether the priest or the receiver. He has also sought details about number of priests at the makeshift temple.
Only Hindus have right to site
MUMBAI: Though its mouthpiece,Saamna,on Wednesday expressed doubt whether Hindus would get justice through the verdict on Ayodhya title suits and reiterated that only Hindus had the right to the disputed site,Shiv Sena refused to comment on its response to the verdict. While executive president Uddhav Thackeray assured that Sainiks would maintain peace,MP Sanjay Raut said the party would wait and watch.
