I am a regular reader of Screen since 1957,when its price was 25 paise. With due respect,I would like to draw your attention towards misinformation,in the mailbox. It has been written that Mughal-E-Azam ran for 100 weeks, but it ran only for 75 weeks. Even after 50 weeks, collections went down,so director K. Asif added the song Hamein kaash tumse muhabaat na hoti by Lata Mangeshkar. Again after some weeks, due to low collection, another song had been added Ae ishq yeh duniya wale. On January 26,1962,the movie was replaced by BR. Films Dharamputra, which ran only for 10 weeks and was replaced by Aashiq (Raj Kapoor and Padmini starrer) and than it was replaced by Ek Musafir Ek Haseena. I have old copies of Screen and have checked this and would like to share my information with your readers.Shailesh Pandya, Patna
