Nabbed CPI politburo member Jagdish Yadav,in-charge of Naxal operations in six districts, has told his interrogators that they had been planning to attack.

Nabbed CPI (Maoist) politburo member Jagdish Yadav,in-charge of Naxal operations in six districts, has told his interrogators that they had been planning to attack the CRPF camp at Madanpur,Aurangabad, and two police posts in Naxal-hit Magadh zone to register their presence in a big way after last September’s Lakhisarai encounter.

“The CRPF camp at Madanpur in the midst of Naxal-infested area has long been a target of ultras. It was attacked in 2007. Jagdish Yadav said he had been making a strategy to attack the camp,” Magadh (range) Deputy Inspector General of Police Umesh Kumar told The Indian Express. “However,Sohail police post under Dhobhi police station obstructs free movement of ultras.”

According to the DIG,Yadav — arrested from Guraru,Gaya, two days ago and lodged in Gaya jail — gave structural information of the outlawed organisation. The Naxal leader has 10 cases of dacoities besides two dozen cases of subversive activities against him.

The top Maoist leader told the police they had been getting most of their ammunition from the Indo-Bangladesh border.
