Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar on Thursday suggested that farmers whose lands are acquired for development should be made permanent stakeholders in the projects in some way.
8220;Farmers8217; land should not be acquired in such a fashion that hurts them. They should be given a compensation over and above the market rates ..They should be made a permanent stakeholder in projects whenever their land is acquired,8221; Nitish Kumar told reporters in response to a query over the issue of land acquisition. Kumar was in Delhi to meet the Union Power Minister and Rural Development Minister.
