Even as she continued her rhetoric against the anti-people decisions of the UPA government,BSP chief Mayawati Wednesday left it to herself to take the call on continuing outside support to the government at the right time.
At a meeting of the partys national executive Wednesday,Mayawati said she will do it soon and after adequate contemplation.
Mayawati said the UPA government was unstable and the next Lok Sabha elections may happen before time according to a leader she said the polls were likely in 2013 and that party was fully prepared for the polls and will fetch good results, she added.
She said that her partymen will hold cadre camps and protests against the UPAs anti-people policies. She said that her party had decided to support UPA to keep the communal forces at bay and for the development of Dalits, backwards and minorities, but the Centre has taken several anti-people decisions, hasnt taken any strict initiative against corruption, and let the economy become weaker.
Sources said Mayawatis decision has less to do with the Supreme Court order saying the CBI was free to register a fresh case of disproportionate assets against her after getting sanction from the government and more to do with the current political situation in UP,where the party does not stand a chance of gaining much in the event of an early election.
A senior party leader said Mayawati will wait for the growth of anti-incumbency sentiment against Akhilesh Yadav government and watch the moves of other UPA supporters, including the SP,which has 22 Lok Sabha members. The BSP has 21.
