Jagir Kaur moves HC against conviction

To ensure that she is not unseated according to the provisions of The Representation of People Act,Bibi Jagir Kaur on Monday moved the Punjab and Haryana High Court challenging her conviction.

The court admitted the appeal wherein she has challenged the five-year sentence awarded to her on charges of forcing her daughter Harpreet to undergo abortion after getting her abducted. Her counsel R S Cheema stated that the lower court erred in placing reliance on the prosecution case.
