Terming the de-recognition of the Indian Pilots Guild (IPG) as high-handed and draconian, the IPG has moved the Bombay High Court urging it to strike down two letters issued by Air India under which the IPG was de-recognised and its premises sealed.
The IPG has contended that after the Supreme Court,in April, vacated a stay granted on the 1:1 policy under which one pilot from the AI and Indian Airlines would train to fly Boeing 777,the AI management was emboldened and began issuing command-training letters to pilots from Indian Airlines.
They stated that the AI had neither issued any notice to them nor given them a hearing prior to the de-recognition.
A vacation bench of the High Court is likely to hear the petition on Friday, said IPGs lawyer Jamshed Mistry.
