The Association of Computing Machinery ACM will organise its annual event Compute-2012 on January 23-24 in the city to discuss the latest trends in the computing world. The event will be attended by top IT professionals from across the globe.
The event will be inaugurated by Dr Vijay Bhatkar and the chief speaker will be Padma Vibhushan
NR Narayana Murthy,chairman emeritus,Infosys,the organisers said.
Throwing light on the event,Dr Anand Deshpande,co-chairman of ACM India,said the theme will be Intelligent and Scalable System Technologies. The discussion will be held on high performance computing and knowledge and information retrieval. Among others who will speak on the occasion are Dr Aditya Abhyankar,Head of the department of technology,Pune University,Dr Pushpak Bhattacharyya,Professor computer science and engineering,IITB,Dr Deepak Khemani,Professor IIT Mandi,Dr Abhay Jere,Persistent Systems Ltd,Dr. Girish Palshikar of Tata Research Design and Development Centre.
One of the highlights of the event will be the technology pavilion in which small technology entrepreneurs from the city will showcase their talent and capabilities. The event will conclude with the lecture by Dr Narendra Jadhav,member,planning commission.
Dr Deshpande said that conference is expected to be attended by more than 500 delegates from software companies,academics and research institutes all over India.
Alain Chesnais,president ACM,John White,ACM CEO,and Pat Ryan,ACM COO,will also be present at the event.
