In town For Saifs sake

The last time Kareena Kapoor created such a flutter in Madhya Pradesh was when she had taken up the cause of weavers from Chanderi while promoting the blockbuster 3 idiots. The filmstar is once again in Bhopal, but this time it it is for a personal cause. She has no role in Prakash Jhas Aarakshan, which isbeing shot in the capital city; her presence is apparently because Saif Ali Khan is part of the cast. Kapoor managed to avoid reporters but Khan could not. The day after her arrival,he faced relentless questions, direct and indirect, from the media. She has also asked Sonia Gandhi to come clean on the allegations of her family having stashed money in foreign banks.

Choice of cong leader in house waits for sanction

As in many other states, the Congresss Madhya Pradesh unit is divided. Every time a leader has to be chosen or nominated to head one of the partys various wings, the matter has to reach the high command. Currently, the party is struggling with the process of finalising the name of its leader in the Assembly. Veteran leader Jamuna Devi, who held the post, passed away in September but the party has not been able to name her successor. The last referendum was held on the eve of the Assemblys current session with a promise to name the Leader of the Opposition the same day. It has been several days since.

Scheme for Affordable homes kicks off

Shivraj Singh Chouhan has launched yet another social initiative,Mukhyamantri Avas Mission,to make housing affordable for the homeless in rural areas. Last week he performed the bhoomi pujan for the first beneficiarys home. Chouhan insists no money will be taken from the Centre to run the scheme, which he also hopes will bring in electoral dividends like his other schemes. While the beneficiary has to make a contribution of only Rs 10,000,the states share is Rs 30,000 and the remainder is raised from bank loans. If the beneficiary does not have

Rs 10,000,he can make up by working as labourer for his own house.
