Motorola teases Razr Fold ahead of summer launch

Motorola reveals key specifications and design details of the Razr Fold smartphone, but keeps pricing and positioning under wraps ahead of its summer 2026 launch.

While many large foldables lean toward a stark, utilitarian design, the Razr Fold is a softer, more fashion-conscious alternative, underscoring Motorola’s belief that style can still be a differentiator in high-end smartphones.   (Image: Motorola)While many large foldables lean toward a stark, utilitarian design, the Razr Fold is a softer, more fashion-conscious alternative, underscoring Motorola’s belief that style can still be a differentiator in high-end smartphones.   (Image: Motorola)

Motorola has offered an early glimpse of its first book-style foldable smartphone, Razr Fold, at the ongoing CES 2026 in Las Vegas. However, the company has kept some crucial details firmly under wraps, which also includes pricing.

As per reports, the device will likely feature a 6.6-inch outer display paired with a large 8.1-inch 2K LTPO inner screen, positioning it squarely in the premium foldable category. Photography is another major focus, with a triple rear camera setup made up of three 50-megapixel sensors. On the front, users get a 32-megapixel selfie camera on the cover screen and a 20-megapixel camera embedded in the inner display. The Razr Fold, which is scheduled to be launched in North America later this summer, also supports the new Moto Pen Ultra stylus.

On the software side, Motorola appears to be building on ideas introduced with its clamshell foldables. The outer display can automatically surface helpful information, such as a clock and calendar, when the device is partially folded into a tent-like position. The expansive inner screen supports multitasking features that allow apps to be tucked to the side while remaining active.

The back panel finishes stand out, including a blue-black option with a woven, textured feel and a soft, white variant with a smooth, silky surface.

Motorola’s arrival in the book-style foldable smartphone space comes several years after the category took shape, but the company seems confident there is room for a different approach. While many large foldables lean toward a stark, utilitarian design, the Razr Fold is a softer, more fashion-conscious alternative, underscoring Motorola’s belief that style can still be a differentiator in high-end smartphones.
