Director DJ Caruso says: I distinctively remember reading that DreamWorks had bought the rights of the book; it was around the time my film Transformers: Revenge Of The Fallen had set a record at the box-office. Later, when I was busy working on my next film,The Art Of Making Money,I got a call from Steven Spielberg. He wanted me to direct a film on the book.

The Buzz

Interestingly, the shooting of the film commenced even before the first volume of Freys and Hughess book I Am Number Four had been published. Real-life lovers Alex Pettyfer and Dianna Agron play a romantic couple in the film.
