Like most his age,Vikas Tulsiani loved to party and was hooked to Facebook. On Sunday,the 24-year-old died of injuries he suffered in the February 13 German Bakery blast.
Vikas became the 15th victim of the terror attack,hours after another youth,Kolkatas Rajeev Agarwal a 22-year-old student of Symbiosis Law School died early in the morning.
Tony Koshy,who was Vikass classmate at the Marathwada Mitra Mandal College here,said they had bumped into each other a day before the blast. He was hunting for a job, said Tony.
Friends remembered Vikas as a jovial person who loved to dance and was extremely fond of music. He loved trance music, said Anjali Devnani,an HR consultant,who was among his close friends. Vikas had completed his engineering from D Y Patil College,Koshy said.
None of the friends who gathered at his Atur Park residence could believe that their friend was no more. It is such a shock. He had completed his studies and was searching for a job, said Anjali.
According to Dr Prasad Muglikar,medical superintendent of Jehangir hospital,Vikass kidney and liver had stopped functioning and he was on life support system. One of his legs had to be amputated.
Earlier in the day,heart-rending scenes were witnessed at the morgue of Sassoon General Hospital and later at the Vaikunth crematorium as family and friends bade farewell to Rajeev Agarwal,a final-year law student at Symbiosis.
Among the top five students at the institute,Rajeev had been recently placed in a law firm,Shashikala Gurpur,principal of the Symbiosis Law School said. Rajeev also cleared the Company Secretary exam. Rajeev wanted us to come from Kolkata for his convocation. He wanted us to be proud of his achievements. That is not possible now, said his father Nandkumar as he broke down.
Family members said Rajeev last visited home on January 25. He would have turned 23 on February 24.
Rajeev had gone to German Bakery with friends Abhishek Saxena,who died in the blast,Rishab Agarwal and their senior at Symbiosis,Sumeet Singh. Sumeet and Rishab are recovering from their injuries.
Rajeev was a role model for his cousin,19-year-old Shyam,a first-year BCom student at Kolkatas St Xaviers College. On the phone he tried to say something to me. But he was too feeble and had no energy to speak, said Shyam in Kolkata.
With his death,the number of those from the city killed in the blast rose to four. Siblings Ankik Dhar 24 and Anindyee Dhar 19 and Shilpa Goenka 22 are the other three.
