Nothing scary about this

Cast: Amit Sareen,Rashmi Desai Sandhu and Gautami Kapoor
When will producer-director Vikram Bhatt tire of unleashing so-called horror stories on the hapless viewers? We mean, isnt he and all those who hire his creative services tired of churning out the same old stuff of pyaasi atma, ateet ka sach, amavasya ki raat, women in white sarees and sans make-up,creaking doors and howling dogs? We are sure, even the dogs are tired now and must be silently protesting for being stereotyped!
Haunted Nights is Sahara Ones and Bhatts new scary venture which does anything but haunt you. We watched five episodes each story is spread over a week of this and believe you us,we twiddled our thumbs and were trying to make sense of the actors going through the motions indifferently. In one episode, the creative team was perhaps feeling so lazy that all the actors went by their original first names. So you had Shilpa Saklani as Shilpa,Abhinav Shukla as Abhinav and Amit Sareen as Amit. By the way, this show gives a chance to have been actors to do un productive work.
We are not getting into the stories. Suffice to say, they were nothing you havent seen before. If at all,the very first story titled Charitra was melodramatic with a eunuch thrown in who talks in verse. Eg: kya tujhe sunayi de rahi hai uske maut ki dhoon, kyunki uske maut ki kahaani koi raha hai buun or some such! The only high point of that story if you can call that, was Rashmi Desais who seemed to wander off from her Uttaran set in a glittering sari backless choli.
As for the rest, leave it,you just might get spooked watching all that mediocrity.
Verdict: Rent a Ramsay movie instead!
