Ghosh may face TMC axe soon

Mamata has instructed her party leaders to not join issues with Ghosh who has been making veiled threats of revealing his party.

The noose is tightening on TMCs rebel Rajya Sabha MP Kunal Ghosh as Mamata Banerjee is said to have made up her mind to suspend him within a couple of days for anti-party activities.

Mamata has instructed her party leaders to not join issues with Ghosh who has been making veiled threats of revealing his partys connections in the chit fund scam case for which he is currently being interrogated by the Bidhannagar City Polices detective department in Kolkata. This will be the TMCs first serious action against any dissident MP.

Party sources said the possibility of Ghosh getting arrested in connection with the case after having gone through multiple rounds of interrogation was getting stronger. Ghosh has not yet revealed any party leaders alleged link with the case to police. But he has said he might be constrained to reveal something eventually.

Ghosh,a senior Bengali journalist, was at the forefront of the media activities of the financial firm Saradha Group, which is at the centre of the scam. He was the TMCs official spokesman last year when he was also included in Mamatas inner circle.

Ghosh has not been invited to the upcoming September 30 meeting of MPs and senior MLAs in Kolkata convened by Mamata. However, other MPs like Somen Mitra,Tapas Paul and Shatabdi Roy,who had also made critical remarks about the partys functioning along with Ghosh at a blood donation camp last week, have been invited.

Far from toning down his defiant stance about the party,Ghosh has been making his statements against the party.
