Fascinating musical Stories

Accounts of music-making in India,and stories of the struggles and hardships faced by musicians,both real and imaginary,are the foundation for a collage of dramatised episodes that blend theater,music and literature. Several forms of theater in India make abundant use of music,but Stories In A Song takes the help of theater to tell stories of musical forms such as kajri,thumri,dadra,khayal,remixes and more. It was recently presented at Mumbais National Center for Performing Arts NCPA.

Directed by Sunil Shanbag and conceived by Shubha Mudgal with research by Shubha Mudgal and Aneesh Pradhan who have also selected and composed the music,the show featured performers like Shubrajyoti Barat,Gopal Tiwari,Ketki Thatte,Namit Das,Santosh Tiwari,Pia Sukanya,Mansi Multani,Nishi Doshi,Trupti Khamkar,Makarand Deshpande,Shailesh Hejmadi,Gagan Riar,Anushree Shukla,Saurabh Nayyar,Avantika Ganguly,Tariq Vasudevan and Ajitesh Gupta.
