Ex-CRPF man kills 7

A former Central Reserve Police Force CRPF constable went on a rampage in his village killing seven people over a period of five hours.

A former Central Reserve Police Force CRPF constable went on a rampage in his village killing seven people over a period of five hours on Tuesday night. K Shankar Rao,dismissed from service after he allegedly murdered his wife two years ago,was recently released on bail.

He returned to Metapatala village in Srikakulam district and started attacking the people who had been witnesses in his wifes murder case.

Srikakulam Police said that Shankar Rao first hacked to death his nine-year-old daughter and seven-year-old son, then his sister and brother-in-law,stabbing them with a knife and sickle. Rao then started throwing crude bombs and even as terrorised villagers ran for their lives,he attacked another woman and two men his neighbours. According to the police,Rao is absconding and a manhunt had been launched.
