Sources in the CRPF said the entire 31st battalion is under quarantine at the moment and the Mayur Vihar camp has been virtually sealed. They added that the situation is serious in the battalion as 46 of its jawans have tested positive for COVID-19.

Gaya, Jan 16 (ANI): The Police arrested a Maoist commander and also recovered huge cache of arms and ammunition during a combing operation in Gaya, Bihar. Police had received information about the Maoist’s movement on January 13. Acting on the tip-off, police and officials of paramilitary Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) conducted a combing operation in Gaya district. Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP), Gaya, Garima Malik said they recovered AK-56 rifle, 102 live cartridges and other items from the commander. However, the Maoists claim to be fighting for the rights of peasants and landless labourers as they routinely call strikes, attack government property and target politicians and police.
