Digvijay: Have asked BSNL for call records

Congress general secretary again insisted that he had no reason to lie about the call he had got from Karkare.

Congress general secretary Digvijay Singh on Tuesday again insisted that he had no reason to lie about the call he had got from Maharashtra ATS chief Hemant Karkare while informing that he had further requested the BSNL to provide the call records of his cellphone on that particular day.

Singh had earlier said that two hours before the 26/11 terrorists struck,Karkare had called him to say that his life was blighted by constant threats from those opposed to his probe into the Malegaon blast.

I had got the call on my mobile phone number 9425015461. I have tried to get call records from BSNL but was told in writing that it does not keep records of more than 12 months. BSNL,however, has a recovery centre at Pune and I have now requested them to find out from there, Singh said at a press conference here.

He said,Im absolutely certain. I have no reason to tell a lie.

He also pointed out that former DGP Julius Rebeiro, too, had given a statement that Karkare had met him three days ahead of the incident and said he was sad that his honesty was being questioned.
