Deve Gowda meets Manmohan

Former prime minister and JDS leader H D Deve Gowda met Prime Minister Manmohan Singh on Tuesday to apprise him of the emerging issue of law and order and illegal mining in Karnataka.

His response was positive, Deve Gowda said without giving details of what the PM said. I brought to the PMs notice the serious situation which is fast developing in Karnataka over the issue of cow protection legislation, he said.

He said the police had booked a meat shop owner in Chickmangalur under what he described as a flawed legislation.
