Four returning after birthday, NY celebrations killed in Kullu accident
The impact was so severe that the vehicle was completely mangled, killing three of the occupants on the spot.

Four people including three women and one driver died in a road accident on the National Highway near Bhootnath bridge in Kullu district, officials said on Thursday.
The four friends, including three women, had come to Kasol to celebrate New Year’s Eve and the birthday of Satpal, a local tattoo artist. They were returning to Kullu when their speeding vehicle hit a roadside parapet and rammed into a parked truck around 2.40 am.

The impact was so severe that the vehicle was completely mangled, killing three of the occupants, including Satpal, on the spot, officials said. One of the victims, who was alive when she was taken to the local hospital, succumbed to her injuries.
The victims were identified as — car driver Satpal (25) of Kullu, Ankita (20) of Udaipur village in Lahaul and Spiti district, Kashish (20) of subtehsil Jari in Kullu, and Ratanjali alias Ruchi (20) of Bhuntar in Kullu. All the occupants had to be pulled out of the wreckage using iron rods.
Ratanjali was initially rushed to the Regional Hospital in Kullu and later referred to AIIMS Bilaspur, where doctors declared her dead on arrival.

The bodies would be handed over to the family members of the deceased after a postmortem.
