Dancing with the stars

Apart from judging,Remo DSouza will also be mentoring every jodi on the show. He has been appointed as the head choreographer too.

While it is being promoted that Darsheel Safaris partner Avneet Kaur is Jhalaks first-ever child choreographer,truth is that the duo is being taken care of by a ghost choreographer.

The thirteenth jodi on the show will be revealed only on June 16,but we hear that the contestant is not a celebrity,but somebody from the Colors team

What is the criteria for judging the performances of each of the contestants of Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa?

Madhuri: My judging would be based on their expressions and how well they get into their character. Also the contestants need to maintain the flow and the continuity of their performance,from the start to end.

Karan: While Madhuri and Remo,being dancers,will look at the techniques,I will mostly look at the concept of the choreography,presentation of the dancers and their energy levels.

Remo: I would only look at the seriousness of a contestant towards the dance. I want everyone to show dedication. One might be a celebrity but on the floor,you are just a dancer competing with each other.

What kind of a judge are you going to be?

Madhuri: I shall try to be a very polite critic as I am not here to insult anyone. After all,we would be judging celebrities so we have to respect them. We should appreciate the fact that they are coming out of their comfort zone to attempt something different.

Karan: I am going to be very honest. My facial expression will tell whether I have liked a presentation or not.

Remo: I shall be balanced. For example,Isha Sharvani is a fantastic dancer. I expect something exuberant from her,there should be no room for improvement in her performances. Whereas Sanath Jayasuriya is a complete non-dancer so I would want him to improve with every performance of his.

Any particular jodi whose performance you are looking forward to?

Madhuri: I am looking forward to the youngest dancer on the show Darsheel Safari. I found him confident and promising.

Karan: I am going to root for Darsheel too,as he comes from the same school as me. I also want to see non-dancers like Talat Aziz and Jayasuriya having fun on the dance floor.

Remo: Ishas performances are going to be a treat since she is a dancer. I also appreciate Jayasuriya for taking this up,I have a soft corner for him.

Contestants would be dancing on so many national and international genres. Which one is your personal favourite dance form?

Madhuri: The Indian classical dance form Kathak is my personal favourite.

Karan: Any dance form is exciting to watch if the performers throw the right amount of energy into it.

Remo: I am a big fan of Hip hop.

Tell us about your dance idols?

Karan: Apart from Madhuri,its got to be Kamal Haasan. I like the way he makes Bharat Natyam look masculine on him.

Remo: The one and only Michael Jackson.

Apart from Jhalak…,what are the other projects that you are working on?

Madhuri: I have Vishal Bhardwajs Dedh Ishqiya and Soumik Sens Gulab Gang.

Karan: Currently I am busy with Student Of The Year,then I have a film with Ekta Kapoor to make.

Remo: After completing the shooting of Any Body Can Dance,currently we are busy with its post production. l
