Dabur Nepal,an Indian joint venture in the country,told authorities here that there was a problem in stamping of manufacturing dates on one its products due some 8220;miscommunication8221; among company8217;s staff.
During a meeting with the officials of the Investigation of Abuse of Authority CIAA of Nepal,the country8217;s anti-corruption watchdog,Dabur Nepal executives explained to them about the mistake in stamping manufacturing dates due to miscommunication among company8217;s staff,company sources said.
Dabur Nepal8217;s Chief Executive Officer Udayan Ganguli and factory manager Indranil Gupta went to the CIAA office for the second time for submitting explanation on the alleged irregularity,they said.
They also provided bank guarantee worth Rs 50 million to the CIAA as per its directive as both the top comnany executives are foreigners.
After carrying out a raid,CIAA last month had seized 74,000 cartons of Real brand juice worth Rs 80 million from its factory in Bara district in southern Nepal for allegedly altering manufacturing dates.
The raid by CIAA comes after months of smear campaign by a section of Nepalese media against the Indian joint venture.
Dabur Nepal,the manufacturer of soft drinks and herbal beauty products is a leading Indian joint venture in Nepal established some two decades ago. Dabur has been providing direct employment to over 1,000 local employees.
