Here are some of my favourite looks from two shows of PCJ Delhi Couture Week 2012 that kicked off in Delhi on Wednesday.
Varun Bahl’s India,Nouveau and JJ Valaya’s ongoing interpretation of the Ottoman Empire.
What I really admire about Varun is the way he has brought black on the couture ramp, yanking its superstitious notions away, also pronouncing that couture is not just about bridal wear. He did show a clutch of clearly bridal garments but they didn’t take away from the larger point he made.
JJ Valaya’s clothes show intensity of craftsmanship and detailing, leaving little to imagination. Its all out there from form to finish.
