Rajkot City Police have moved court to change the charge from attempt to murder (BNS 109) to murder (BNS 103) against Lalji. (File) Nearly 48 hours after being shot three times, allegedly by her husband, Trusha Padhiyar succumbed to her injuries early Monday morning in Gujarat’s Rajkot.
According to police, Lalji Ramesh Padhiyar allegedly shot the victim in the head and face with his licensed pistol during an altercation on the morning of November 15, before he died by suicide. While paramedics declared Lalji dead on the spot, they found Trusha alive despite three bullet wounds. She was rushed to Rajkot Civil Hospital for emergency surgery and later shifted to a private hospital. ACP Radhika Bharai said Trusha died at 4 am on November 17.
Rajkot City Police have moved court to change the charge from attempt to murder (BNS 109) to murder (BNS 103) against Lalji. As the accused is deceased, the case will eventually conclude with an abated summary, officials said.
