Cops again crack down on scribes,Omar sorry

Since June 11,when the current unrest began,police have routinely seized newspapers and harassed journalists some were allegedly beaten up forcing the papers to twice suspended publication.

With members seeking a reply in the House,the CM said: I have been informed that two vehicles carrying newspapers were stopped early in the morning to check the printed material to avoid circulation of any inflammatory matter. I have been informed that this was done to prevent any untoward incident owing to the verdict regarding Ayodhya.

Any inconvenience caused to mediapersons by such action is regretted.
