Congress doors not open to defectors: YSR

Chief Minister Y S Rajasekhara Reddy said the Congress has not kept its doors wide open for admitting defectors from other parties.

Chief Minister Y S Rajasekhara Reddy said the Congress has not kept its doors wide open for admitting defectors from other parties. “Had we kept our doors open,there will be a flood of people rushing into the Congress from other parties,” Reddy told mediapersons on Wednesday. He was reacting to criticism that the Congress was encouraging defections to weaken the opposition parties. “Telugu Mahila (TDP’s women wing) president and actress R K Roja wanted to jump into the Congress but we were not ready to admit her,” he said. “We admit people from other parties only based on the local requirements and in due consultation with the Congress cadres,he said.
