Cong top brass discusses internal security

The issue of internal security figured prominently at a meeting of Congress top brass on Friday,including Prime Minister Manmohan Singh,in the backdrop of the blast outside the Delhi High Court. Home Minister P Chidambaram briefed the Congress Core Group on the blast and the status of the ongoing investigations.

This was the first meeting of the Core Group after Congress president Sonia Gandhi returned from abroad after undergoing treatment. Gandhi,who heads the Core Group,however,did not attend the meeting.
