Cong in shock after decimation: Advani

The BJP on Monday slammed the Congress for levelling charges that the EVMs were tampered with by the ruling party in Gujarat to win the civic elections. It asked the Congress to introspect on the reasons for its defeat rather than training its guns at the BJP.

While the party attacked the Congress,senior BJP leader L K Advani in his blog said the Congress in Gujarat was in a state of shock after the defeat and admitted that the results have 8220;surpassed all our expectations8221;. The 8220;remarkable feature8221; was the victory of over 100 Muslim candidates of the BJP,he said and shared Narendra Modi8217;s view that Muslims and Christians are 8220;evidently disillusioned8221; with vote bank politics. 8220;This time8217;s outcome is not just a defeat. It is a decimation of the Congress in Gujarat,8221; Advani said.
