Cong 2nd list names 42

Nominations have already begun and the last date is November 12.

In its second list of candidates for the upcoming Assembly polls in Rajasthan, the ruling Congress announced 42 names, including those of state party spokesperson Archana Sharma and former minister Bhanwarlal Sharma. The party is playing safe and after announcing its first list of 63 candidates on Saturday,it had been taking time to hold deliberations for the remaining seats.

A day after the BJP declared 176 candidates out of the total 200 seats in poll-bound Rajasthan, the Congress is giving its best shot to compile a formidable list of contenders.

Insiders say the delay in the list could be attributed to the differences between Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot and his rival camp but others say the party high command is carefully charting out a strong list of contenders.

Though the second list does not feature any big names and continues to maintain suspense over the candidature of Pradesh Congress Committee chief Chandrabhan and ministers Bina Kak,Harjiram Burdak and Hemaram Choudhary,it sprung a surprise by including Udailal Anjana, who was recently accused of sexual assault by a woman.

The party is yet to take a call on the remaining 95 seats out of the total 200.

Nominations have already begun and the last date is November 12.
