Child-like vs minister-like

A verbal duel between two top-class lawyers can make for interesting viewing. Especially when the lawyers happen to be Union Home Minister P Chidambaram and Leader of Opposition in Rajya Sabha Arun Jaitley. During the discussion on the alleged phone tapping,as Jaitley made a point about how tax evasion must be linked with either public emergency or public safety for allowing tax authorities to intercept telephones,Chidambaram said that the claim that any act threatening financial stability,financial institutions and revenues of the country cannot be discovered through intelligence gathering was naive and displayed a certain child-like innocence on the part of the Leader of Opposition. Jaitley retorted,You may call it child-like,but please have a Minister-like reading of the judgment. It says that economic emergency is not public emergency.
