Directors queued up to get in a word with Shah Rukh Khan and pitch their scripts at the party

Pitobash,who won the Best Actor In A Comic Role Award,held on to his trophy throughout the evening. Not once did he let it out of his sight

There was a flurry of excitement the minute Shah Rukh Khan stepped into the ballroom of a suburban hotel for the Screen after awards party. Fans rushed to get up,close and personal with the superstar. They captured him on their cellphones,thrust forward their autograph books and tried for a photo-op with him. Directors queued up to get in a word with the actor and pitch their scripts. Shah Rukh Khan was charm personified and patiently obliged his fans with photographs and autographs. Khan’s manager,Karuna was anxious for the star,but SRK seemed to enjoy every bit of the attention and adulation.

Onlookers were in for a surprise when Pitobash,recipient of the Best Actor In A Comic Role award,walked up to SRK hugged him tightly,saying “You’re my hero.” He didn’t seem to want to let him go.

If SRK was the scene-stealer,Vidya Balan,the winner of the Best Actor Female Award (The Dirty Picture),was the cynosure of all eyes as she gracefully strode in draped in a Kanjeevaram black-and-gold sari.

Her director,Milan Luthria,too was complimented by one and all for his win. He was overheard saying,“This is a special moment and I need to celebrate it,” while his wife,Lianne,looked on,pleased. The other lady who looked as pleased as punch was the producer of The Dirty Picture,Ekta Kapoor. Accompanied by her team from Balaji Motion Pictures,that included Tanuj Garg and Swati Shetty and good friend Mustaq Sheikh,Ekta was in high spirits over her win. After chatting with Luthria,she made it a point to greet Shekhar Gupta,Editor-in-chief,Indian Express and Screen editor Priyanka Sinha Jha.

Then there was the Yeh Saali Zindagi team of Sudhir Mishra and Arunoday Singh who bonded with filmmaker Piyush Jha over a glass of wine. Delighted that she had received her first nomination ever in the Best Supporting Actor (Female) category,Swara Bhaskar let her hair down as she partied through the night.

As the heady night came to a close,most of the guests including Rajat Aroraa and Bejoy Nambiar headed home.

As for Pitobash,the actor wanted to dance the night away,so he stayed till the wee hours of the morning. All in all,a memorable culmination for a truly star-spangled evening.
