The Central Bureau of Investigation CBI,probing the multi-crore 2G spectrum scam,is questioning officials of Reliance Communications after alleged links between the company and Shahid Balwas Swan Telecom emerged.
Balwa,in his letter to the CBI,has acknowledged that Reliance Communications helped him set up the business. He said it was done with the help of lawyer Anand Bhatt,who died in Mumbai 26/11 attack.
The CBI is questioning the RCom officials about the shareholding in Swan Telecom. According to Balwa,RCom sold its share of 9.9 percent in Swan Telecom to Delphi Investments.
Meanwhile,the Anil Ambani-led ADAG has said that the CBI has examined some of its officials as part of the ongoing probe into various matters relating to telecom companies from 2001 to 2008. As part of this process,CBI has also examined a few officials of Reliance ADA Group,and we are fully co-operating with the authorities in this regard, said a spokesperson for ADAG.
The CBI has so far arrested four persons including former telecom minister A Raja in the 2G scam.
